(---------- Click the links on the left of the page for "How to Measure Your Child" help pages. These are very informative pages that assist with each specific measurement and how to compare with the size chart for best fit.
Unlike department stores our products cannot be tried on in the dressing room for fit; this is why taking your child’s measurements and comparing them to our product specific size charts is so very important.
This guide offers helpful hints and tips that will assist in you choosing the best size for your child. We offer a courtesy one time size exchange on most major apparel items but measuring you child may eliminate time consuming exchanges (not to mention shipping costs).
Size charts are not located here, apparel specific size charts (size charts for that specific item) are located on the apparel's product page. This information is useful in conjunction with the product specific size charts. Our size charts are accurate and if utilized correctly will result in the correct size selection. Email us and we will be more than happy to help you select the best size!
SIZING VARIATIONS: All manufacturer sizing standards vary from brand to brand and in many cases even style to style within the same brands. This is true anywhere you shop. When you try on clothing or shoes in any store you always find those that do not fit correctly – this one’s too big, this one’s too small….. It will be the same when shopping online. Measuring your child is the ONLY way to avoid this.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FIT TIP: DO NOT assume that because your child wears a casual size 6 they will automatically wear a formal size 6; this is not always true.
FORMAL WEAR FIT: In many cases formal wear is an exact fit that may lean toward a smaller fit; this is especially true with boy’s suits. However, since all items vary per its specific style refer to the size chart located on the product page for best fit.
ARE ITEMS TRUE TO SIZE? This is a very common question put to us by our customers. Unfortunately, this is an unanswerable question since there must be something to compare the ‘trueness of size’ to. The best answer is: Apparel is true to the size chart.
FIT TIPS: Look for fit tips located on the product page; if an apparel item is found to be extra large or small we will add a tip fit to inform customers. This should not keep you from using the size chart; it is simply a helpful hint.
SIZE CHARTS: Each product page includes a size chart (accurate up to 1”) located under the product description or under the ‘More Details’ link on the product page.
ODD & EVEN SIZING: When size choices are available in both even and odd sizes selecting your odd size (if within measurements and size worn now) is the best choice. If the product offers only even size than that size encompasses the odd size below and the even size shown (ei. 4 (fits 3-4), 6 (fits 5-9) and so on).
GARMENT MEASUREMENT VS BODY MEASUREMENTS: When choosing a size based on measurements make sure to choose a size 1-2” larger than then the child’s actual body measurements. If your child has a 20” chest and a 21” waist you want to choose a garment size of 21-22” in the chest & 22-23”in the waist. An exact garment measurement to body measurement match will result in a product that is too small.
WHAT ARE GARMENT MEASUREMENTS?: Garment measurements are the measurements of the apparel item as shown on the size chart
OPTIMAL SUIT FIT: While all of our boys suits are intended and produced for "purchase & wear"; because all children are shaped differWently having your suit custom tailored after purchase will glean the most ideal fit result.
INFANT WEIGHT: While many size charts will include a weight chart please DO NOT base your purchase solely on this weight chart alone. This weight chart should be used in conjunction with the size chart to determine the best fit. Each child is shaped differently and the weight chart does not take the child’s shape or length into consideration. Base your choice on all the information available and if you need more information just ask as we are happy to help.
CONFUSING SIZE CHART DISCEPANCIES: After taking your size 8 daughter’s measurements and comparing them to the size chart you see that the size chart suggests you choose a size 5 dress; what do you do? Please do not choose a size 5 dress for your size 8 daughter! Even if the chest and waist measurements suggest that a size 5 will fit best this is not the whole picture. A size 5 dress will be too small in the shoulders, sleeves and length to be a good fit. You do not want to go more than one size smaller or a few sizes larger than what they currently wear. You can contact us and we will be happy to help.
LENGTH OF A DRESS T, FULL, KNEE: The product page will note whether a dress is t-length, full length, ankle length, knee length, etc… These dresses are cut to these length based on average age and height but these are approximations and where the dress will fall on her depends solely on HER height in comparison to the exact shoulder to hem garment length noted on the size chart. To determine where the dress will come to on her you will want to reverse the size chart length measurement. To do this: Starting at her mid-shoulder (around the shoulder hollow by her neck) take the measuring tape, starting from 0”, run the tape down her back until you reach the size chart’s length measurement and stop at this point. This will give you a very good approximation of where the dress hem will come to when she wears it.

We are happy to help you determine the best fit for your child. Please contact us via email with the sku or style number of the product, your child’s age, chest and waist measurements. We will email you the best fit based on your measurements.
While we are happy to help with fit, we cannot, however, be held liable if product arrives and does not fit. Since our representatives are unable to measure the child themselves and depend on 3rd party measurement information it is impossible to guarantee fit and lack of fit does not constitute a return without exchange.
You can use the guide below as a starting place in conjunction with size charts, please note that this is not a size chart and will not elicit the correct apparel sizing. Apparel specific size charts are located on the apparel's product page either.
